- Just installed a HG 11-30 eight speed but used a HG 7 12 tooth cog and nut in place of the tiny 11 tooth cog.......any problems from doing this? I run 44x34x24 chain rings and wanted a one tooth jump to my top gear. I test rode it briefly and it appears to shift fine. School me yo!..............
