Today I got to go out and complete the ride that snow stopped me from
completing last week.

Leaving my house, I climb up Mountain Avenue, a mountain residential road which
mostly climbs to Mt. Ester trailhead. Mt. Ester trail is a 40 minute push the
bike over rocks and roots and grades I preferred not to measure. At the saddle
I turned right and soon passed my previous turn around point. Great single
track!

I rode this ride as if I were Whinny the Pooh on expotition. Lots of stops and
enjoying the near absence of motors.

Then it was on to the Pikes Peak access road, rather like a fire road, but for
the maintenance of our reservoirs. Though 4/5th of the total distance, from
here it was only 1/3rd the total time (estimating, I didn't track anything).

Then it was a grand fast winding mountain descent on paved road down to Hwy 24
and even faster return home from just west of Woodland Park. All said, five
wondrous hours of expotition on the bike!
