Elk Lake Resort, 31 miles outside Bend on the Cascade Lakes Highway and just a couple miles past the looong climb up to Mount Bachelor, has cabins and rooms. Rustic place on a beautiful lake that does not allow motorboats. Doing Cascade Lakes highway in one day by bike means less time to stop and take photos, go for a dip, etc. I'd take 2 days from Bend to Crater Lake personally, and more if you're feeling really casual.
