They have discontinued the regular Dureme, but still manufacture a tandem version in 700x40c. Basically a double carcass tire ! Quite a bit heavier than the standard tire.
Why discontinued ? .... who knows ! It was a short lived tire. It was not a replacement for the XR tire but after that was discontinued(for the same unkown reasons), there was no other tire for people to choose from ! The Dureme was nowhere as tough as the XR, nor was it intended to be. The Dureme IS the very same Supreme tire with a slightly modified tread, that's all. Now Schwalbe has the Mondial, which is a tougher tire for those who need that, so I guess it made the Dureme superfluous .
