I can only imagine that they're saying a longer stem will put more weight on 
your hands because it will stretch out your reach and get you leaning on the 
bars (weight of upper body on hands). Since you have long arms, found the a-bar 
comes too far back, and like to be a little more stretched out anyway, it would 
make sense to try a longer stem. Do you figure 3 cm or so would put the 
handlebar more to your liking? Do you like the bar otherwise? If yes to both, 
I'd try the longer stem.
