God damned Google won't let me access my Picassa photos: it wants me to
upgrade to some *uc*ing thing else.

Anyway (he said, as his blood pressure slowly returned to its normal
excessive level): I wanted to improve the original, cut out of sheet
aluminum, and built slightly too narrow. I bought a strip of aluminum bar
stock, thinking I could simply bend it into shape -- but no, that don't
work. So I had to cut it out as with the first one, the greater difficulty
being that cutting bar stock is harder with hand tools than cutting sheet.
Also, despite applying the brunt of my tiny visual imagination faculty and
even tinier plan-ahead capacity to the task, I ended up with the device
being (instead of ~5mm too narrow) some ~5 mm too wide; this in part due to
the difficulty of bending stock to right angles in an accurate way.

Anyways, the original, sheet model has carried 25 lb+ many a time with no
deformation beside that due to the allen skewer skweezing the thing shut; I
have even better hopes for this one.

Fotos attached (and *uc* you, Google, for making my use of your generous
free services much more complicated and diffficult than it has to be --
though I owe you no thanks at all for altruism, you shite graspers.
Semi-sincere apology to the sensitive souls who don't like four letter
words.)

Patrick Moore, slowly, slowly, sloooooowly regaining his equanimity (and
what a whole ancient and traditional philosophy and psychology that word
implies!) Moore
