No CD on this bike, but I do ride a 44/30 & 11-28 on the Rambouillet. This one is 48/34/26 with a 12/27 cassette. On the Ram the 30/28 allows me to hold a decent cadence in 7/9 % grades for 1/2 to 3/4 of a mile. I'm OK on short ramps of 15-16 % which are common here, but after that I start to suffer more than I want to. That one extra gear really helps on these longer climbs.
