This is all excellent feedback, thanks for taking the time to pass it along. Christopher, your setup is almost exactly what I'm considering (right down to the Swift panniers) so it's especially nice to see your photos. The basket is super handy and I'll probably keep it no matter what, but by itself with a load makes me unhappy.
