Hi Tom. Here's a recent set-up I used for a quick S24O in good weather. I think it came in at less than 15 lbs, including pannier and handlebar bag weight (but not including food or water bottles):
http://tinyurl.com/mnfdtt5 I think the main weight savings were the ultralight tent, sleeping bag, and sleeping pad. The Esbit stove helped on weight, but really I chose it for packability. Another great addition was the flour sack towel. I love these things. You can use them for a lot of tasks, and they are so absorbent that I also use them to towel off after a dip in the water or a shower or faucet bath. Finally, since the weather was so mild, I only took one added layer for emergency warmth, and it was lightweight wool stuff.
