Now this was a good time. I hope that the SoCal Rivsters are safely arrived home or will soon be.
Much appreciation to Hugh for setting this up, choosing San Mateo, selecting this campsite, and reserving it for us. Hugh made it happen. And hosted it. He helped folks set up tents, fix tires, heat water and spent some time with each person expressing friendship, humor, or some connection about bikes. I met some very nice people. All of them. There was bike talk. All very cool bikes being ridden. Liquid refreshment in general, and remarkably high quality sipping whiskey to nip off of in flasks. David's stealth appearance after hours had major benefits. Somehow he managed to visit a grocery store and score some very nice things that he shared in the morning. I have no idea how he pulled that off at that hour of the night time. I didn't get to do every thing due to work commitments. But it was the perfect S24O. A quantum step up in interdicting a busy schedule.
