Okay, treading delicately off-topic... The road from Huntington to Kaiser
is initially smooth and wide, then becomes extremely narrow and
mosty-paved. By the top, you're dealing with sand and gravel. From there
onto Florence or Edison, it's rough in many spots - but could be ridden on
anything from 23mm racer tires to phat Jack Browns, up to whatever would
fit. Watch out for potholes, sand, gravel, rocks, and most of all... yahoos
in bloated frigates hogging the road, especially on the return, where
you're often left with NO shoulder and a steep cliffy dropoff.

I might could do it on my QuickBeam with the 19 tooth rear, but would
probably be happier on the LongLow with its six-speed rear cassette. Both
have Jack Browns.
