Fun topic. With me, whether I win or lose depends on whether I have fenders
installed. If I don't, I lose -- guaranteed. Pedaling furiously, I manage
to get far enough from home and into an area where there is no shelter, and
have to plod away wetly thereafter until I reach my destination.

Funny: after a very wet July (we've been in 3 or so years of "severe"
drought") the sun came out for three weeks, so I concluded, "Monsoon over"
and removed the fenders from Ram and "03. Sho' 'nuff, immediately, a week
of record-breaking rain. So, Sat, put the fenders back on the '03. Sho'
'nuff, it's been sunny since.

40-somethings on the bike path" Moore, gasping for air in ABQ, NM.
