This past trip my experiment with carrying my food on the front Mark's rack worked out wonderfully. I put the food (relatively small amount per day, as it's one meal a day of butter, beef jerky, and dried potatoes) into the bear-bag and wrap that in a 3'x3' tarp which then doubles as a ground cloth to sit on. I would love to have the food be wrapped in waxed cotton canvas, which can then double as a ground cloth. Anyone know a good source for waxed canvas cloth or tarps?
