I would also guess the the main advantage of rotomolding would be the hollow core. I'm not sure that there is any advantage other than that. Perhaps speed and repeatability. I kind of like the method I used for the BT-7 turret shell. I covered a styrofoam core with aluminum foil and applied fiberglass and resin to the outside of it.
