didnt know there was anything wrong with the old hull, I wouldnt think
dovetail joints are at all necessary but do so if you wish , I have
constructed my last hull with a few elongated finger joints , slightly
for location of parts and partly because I can .non of it is really
needed ,modern glue with screws creates a very strong butt joint .
if you have space restraints ,You could always get plywood cut to size
from any decent timber supplier .

long finger joints - i knew there was another type of joint other than a
dove tail (i just couldn't think of it). I was just thinking that if i could
get it all done with dove tails, it would make it fairly rigid and strong
even without any adhesive. the part that i really wanted the dove tail is
off the side of the hull, over the tracks as would other wise just sit on top
of the lower hull, but with the dove tail, it would lock that piece to the
hull more securely.

I showed the lower hull to Steve (not sure who else) at the last Gettysburg
battle as to how the sides of the lower hull was starting to starting to
bow a bit and seed to be a bit light in a few other places. he suggested
that i add some wood to it, but I didn't want to make the hull any thinker or
heavier that what it currently is so i decided to have new one made, but
with the better plywood.

ya, i could have had them cut the parts with all the angles and stuff, but
i also figured they have bar clamps and such that i don't currently have
