Also important here is gearing. Most of hte tanks are geared so they'll actually move, and not just go. A tank isn't a car, an M1 Abrams has a top speed of about 45 MPH, which isn't much in comparison. At 1:6 scale, that's about 7 MPH, which is faster than most of the tanks go.
