T067 went LiPo from the get go, and was the first tank to do so I believe. I didn't want to worry about SLA's and charging and discharging rates, lifespan, catching fire and all that :)
Also the power to weight ratio is huge compared to SLA. The 24v 20Ah pack that I bought was over $350 delivered, from China via ebay. I have found that while the initial cost of LiPo is more, I was spending the same amount replacing SLA batteries. I have also found the LiPo much easier to charge fully.
