Hey Neil, Funny, I thought I noticed that you still skid turn on grass, from your most recent video...

It's gotta be a wonderful pleasure to be able to sit and ride in the the very vehicle you constucted. Thanks for sharing.

Cheers, Dave D.

I can do zero turns on hard ground using just the motors but they dont
have enough power to turn the tank on grass more than 5-10 degrees.
and even if it could it would kill my lawn so the lever arm is used on
grass, much gentler .

I`ll be interested to see what controller you opt for, in the UK we
are on the lookout for controller improvements, by improvements I mean
cheaper and/or more reliable.

Oh the flat Tyre is on one of my wheelbarrows , I pump it up if I meed
it,

BTW, it looks like you have something with a flat tire on the right side of the video. Hopefully you'll have that fixed by the next video.

Neil,
Your tank looks good in the video. In video of a month ago, it looked like you steered by lifting one side up with a lever, but I see you have separate track drives now. We can see the new track guides on the left and the pins on the right. Guides look better. Your tank is big compared to mine. With only the lower half of my hull complete, I think I could drive under your tank.

Both of my tracks are under motor power now, but no controller yet. I connected both motors to a battery and chased it around the yard for a while.
Bill

Today I finished my track and had to give it a drive round the patio.
I recorded how the suspension handles a block of 4"X2" then tackled
the ramp and even a soggy lawn.

Im quite happy with my new track guides, I even discovered the
improved track is considerably quieter than the old pin driven track
on the other side that Im yet to convert (next job).
Coverage of the making of my new track guides can be found on page 6
and 7 of T078 build pages.
