Yeah, I was bustin' you, but that was very generous of you to make the offer...

Thanks for the info regarding the upcoming battle and the comp on the toy for
my nephew. If I had known that I would have build a wee bit of cred from
this... I'd have built for him a whole platoon of vehicles-LOL. Redrilled the
axle holes into the body and gave everything a fresh coat of paint... Should
have pics of the "final product" by weekend. Abit bummed that it's not going
to be a two day event... A bit of a haul for one day. Still, I know that I
have to be there, I need to experience the thrill of the battle before I commit
any further...

Funny, I stayed up til 3am yesterday reading old posts from the forum. Started
from day "one". Amazing to hear certain elders' stance on certain issues,
stark contrast to what's being bandied about now. I never thought I'd hear
Frank say that a six foot vehicle would prove to be a "larger" target, and
stated that that would put said operator at a disadvantage... It was really
cool to hear what the hobby was experiencing back in its infancy. I got a kick
out of some of your positions,Steve, on certain discussions, that still seem to
have some relevance today!! My how the hobby has changed... and in some cases,
it's remained the same.

I guess that is what makes us all human.

Thanks again Steve,

Dave D.

Sorry, no rooms available that week. I have three guests rooms, ones
reserved for the in-laws, ones been dismantled looking for a pervasive rot
smell my wife's bionic nose says is there (carpet pulled up, drywall pulled
down, etc.), the last room storing stuff from room two.

The battle on the 22nd is a one day event. This ones at a new battlefield
north west of Baltimore a bit. If you can makes it down, pm for directions as
it's at a private residence.

Nice work on the armored car toy for your nephew. With this project you've
jumped ahead of most on this mail list.

  Steve
