So based on this we would know we have listed "a" manifestation of Moby Dick. But without an actual transcription of what is *on* the item, how can we match that description with a particular item in hand? Older print materials and many electronc resources have no ISBNs, and even ISBNs are not to be totally trusted. I'll take MARC 245$a$b/$c, 250, 260$a$b$c, and 300 at least, in actual text please. For MARC 100, 6XX, and 7XX (or equivalents in another coding scheme), URIs, RSNs, or whatever are fine. __ __ J.
