Hello,

I maintain Fink's rdiff-backup package and I wanted to let you know that on the new 10.4 Mac OS X, users are getting new warning messages that didn't exist before.

I don't have a 10.4 box yet myself, so I can't test anything, but I wanted to let you know that there's at least one issue to look at.

Regards,
Blair

Hi,

You're listed as the rdiff-backup package maintainer under fink. I tried to backup my computer today using rdiff-backup (compiled from source under 10.4) and it fails without making any progress with this message:

OSError: [Errno 22] Invalid argument: '/Volumes/External/Backup/ Incremental/rdiff-backup-data/rdiff-backup.tmp.1/\xaf'

I also get these messages in /var/log/system.log:

May 3 00:04:10 ibook kernel[0]: HFS: /rsrc paths are deprecated (.DS_Store/rsrc)
May 3 00:04:10 ibook kernel[0]: HFS: /rsrc paths are deprecated (regfile/rsrc)

I thought I should report to you that it seems not to work (although it builds OK under 10.4). I never tried this under 10.3 so it could also be a symptom of something I've done wrong.

Take care,
c.
