I have seen the same exact problem. Definitely use a 24/12 volt converter and use the whole bank to provide the power supply for the 12 VDC load. Unbalanced, just does make a mess of the 2-halves of the battery bank.

Now after 2 yrs 12v side is low voltage, 24v side is boiling like crazy. System is charged via SW4024, big genny and good size array. so my question is can/should I 1. remove the 12v by installing a Vanner or similar. 2. put a 12v charger onto the lower 12v side to put an equal charge into the batteries. ( I have never had success trying to charge up a highly unbalanced battery) thanks, jay peltz power _______________________________________________ List sponsored by Home Power magazine List Address: RE-wrenches@lists.re-wrenches.org Options & settings: http://lists.re-wrenches.org/options.cgi/re-wrenches-re-wrenches.org List-Archive: http://lists.re-wrenches.org/pipermail/re-wrenches-re-wrenches.org List rules & etiquette: www.re-wrenches.org/etiquette.htm Check out participant bios: www.members.re-wrenches.org _______________________________________________ List sponsored by Home Power magazine List Address: RE-wrenches@lists.re-wrenches.org Options & settings: http://lists.re-wrenches.org/options.cgi/re-wrenches-re-wrenches.org List-Archive: http://lists.re-wrenches.org/pipermail/re-wrenches-re-wrenches.org List rules & etiquette: www.re-wrenches.org/etiquette.htm Check out participant bios: www.members.re-wrenches.org
