Almost right Christopher. NEC 705.12(2) allows the ratings of the overcurrent devices supplying power to the bus bar to be 120% of the busbar rating. For a 225-amp busbar that amounts to 270 amps. So a 200-amp main breaker and a 70-amp back fed breaker from the solar system. Or a 225-amp main breaker and a 45-amp back fed breaker from the solar system.

Ahhh – I think I get it – you get the 20% of the 200 amps (so 40 amps) + the extra 25 amps because the buss is only running at 200 amps?

I just saw you emailed me…

It has an option for a factory-installed 200A main breaker.

How does the 225 amp rating make it ideal for 60 amp breakers? 20% of 225 amps is 45 amps – and even with “rounding up” it only gets you to 50 amps.

Greetings all! I heard that Square D makes a load center with a 225A buss bar and a 200A main breaker - ideal for installing 60A of solar interconnection breakers. Does anyone have a part number (or any other info) on this item?

Thanks!
