I know a guy in Colombia who connects his Magnatek Aurora inverter to a genset when the grid is down. Seems to work most of the time. He's got some sort of chinese turbine and chinese controller that dumps power off the back-up generator when necessary.

Isn't there some way to detect reverse power and add a dump load? Seems a shame to kill the renewable input when the grid is down.
