I've wondered about this as well with our unpressurized drainback systems. My 
HVAC supplier had told me that once you heat the water above 165 or so, that 
you basically have distilled it. Not sure. I thought you would need to boil it. 
Though we have had no issues with corrosion as we have had  some tanks in the 
field for years.
