William,
Would a Midnite E-Panel solve the problem?

Friends:

We have not one, but two jobs coming up in the near future requiring we mount FW500 base plates 90 degrees rotated from the norm.  In all my years I have never had to do this and now it is twice.  I am trying to wrap my head around this.

I hate to have breakers actuate sideways so I hesitate to just rotate the DC cabinet with the base plate.  I may keep the DC cabinet vertical and punch a hole in the top to accommodate connections to the inverter.  I want to ensure that  we have room for an additional inverter so I will try to position the KO as far to one side as possible to see if another inverter can fit.

We rarely use the Outback AC cabinet any more anyway, so we will just use the standard QO panel(s) mounted at the top right side up.  They may hang off of the base plate somewhat, but we deal with that regularly.

Anyway, that is my tentative plan.  Anyone else deal with this. Have any photos?

Thanks in advance,

William Miller
