Wrenches,
For my own off grid home, I would like to add four 60-cell modules as a supplemental array, using a Midnite Classic charge controller. I would like to set up a relay between this array and the controller to allow me to direct the output to an SQFlex submersible well pump, using a float switch to send the coil signal. The float switch in my storage tank would send a call for water to the relay, which would then allow array current to flow to the pump during daylight hours. Once the tank is full, the relay switches, allowing array current to flow to the Classic to charge my batteries. I have 24V battery DC available in the well location as well.

Would a standard open contact DPDT power relay with a 24V DC coil work here? The contact terminals are rated for AC, not 125V DC. If I connect the two sets of contacts in series, that would reduce but not eliminate arcing. Has anyone tried this?

This seems like the simplest solution, but I'm open to other suggestions as well.
Thanks, Allan
