Does anyone have any experience with the PowerGrid battery system (by Clean Energy)? we are getting ready to install a 27kW array with a 22kWH Battery Bank and 4 Schneider/Xantrex XW 6848's.

I would. Never thought of running AC from the 24v side to the dual outbacks to charge the 48 V BB. Would need a xfmr though right?I would install a separate Midnite CC for each battery bank. I know the classics output 12v at the aux, so what type of relay could be used? Does it need to be solid state ?I would feel better using some type of control, or as was mentioned, maybe talk him into just hooking everything up to the OB system at the house. The 24v side would be for occasional use only. Thanks for the input! Jeremy Rodriguez All Solar, Inc. 1463 M Penrose Colorado 81240 Sent by Jeremy's iPhone. Sorry for typos and shorthand! Later when those batteries die, replace with a properly sized bank. I also wouldn't be building a new system around an SW4024, those are getting really dated. Great inverter, but they don't last forever. They have excellent resell value on Ebay for folks that need replacements in dual and quad systems. Having said that, Jerry's idea of 2 controllers on one array sounds like it would work, but not with Blue Sky because of the grounding as Larry mentioned. The primary battery to be charged would be the 24v bank, then once it is fully charged, divert the pv to the secondary controller at the 48v bank.
