We’ve had remarkable good response from Enphase replacing old inverters. With swelling and oozing…none have done that yet though I should make the rounds to check. In our early systems we batched as many inverters as possible under a single module (i.e. on a double row, with both pairs of inverters under the bottom row) so our return visits and replacements would be kept as simple as possible. I think it is still a good idea. We’ve had some where the trunk line connectors haven’t been tightly connected, but I think the new IQ 6 and 7’s are much more fool proof in all ways and I remain quite optimistic. If you're seeing physical signs of oozing or swelling, it's only a matter of time before they stop working. Enphase should replace them under warranty, especially if you explain that now is the time to get them swapped and show them the pics. I have a customer who has 3 out of 12 that are leaking and as he is getting his roof re-done would like to replace those before problems occur. They are still working properly but I don’t know the likelihood of failure. I could replace them with 215’s but the trunk cable plugs are different so would have to run a separate trunk cable for just those 3 unless there is an adapter. Any suggestions wildly appreciated ;) !
