One thing that has yet to be mentioned is that the Empire heaters in any home 
are noisy. The pilot
 stays on all the time and most of my off grid homes quiet is what folks enjoy 
the most. Inverters/ gen in the power shed, Blomburg fridges @1.9RA (chill 
plate) and the we have installed the Rinnai heaters both K1 & propane for many 
years w/ little to no problems. Off in the summer season and quiet yes they do 
shut down w/ out AC but when the AC is restored there is a default temp that is 
maintained.
