For metal roof scenarios where rafter finding isn't an option we use EZ Feet and then attach SnapNrack rails to them. It's a very good solution just be sure to note how much of the vertical portion of the EZ Foot interfaces with the rail. You can't pull the rail up to the top of the foot completely.
