For high surge and unbalanced splitphase loads, you can’t beat a Midnite Solar Rosie Inverter. It uses Sic FET’s and is rock solid. I have an early unit and it’s starts my 5hp compressor and still runs other loads without a flicker.
Runs loads that even my Schneider XW+ would not. Why complicate the installs with a VFD? Just install an inverter that can do what you need it to do?
