Friends:
Now that I am on NEM3 I need to consider a battery system to capture daytime energy production and use it to self-power at night. I am new to this concept so I apologize for newbie questions. It will not be easy for me to install a critical-loads sub-panel and I am not looking for outage protection. Therefore I think my only AC connection to the inverter would be to the input. My shop has a 100 amp feeder and 8 Kw of PV on it. (There is 2.5 Kw of PV on the house). The shop would be an ideal place to put an inverter and battery bank. · I would like to charge batteries exclusively from solar and only feed excess PV production back to the grid. · I would like to sell from batteries into my home distribution but only to meet the use on my premises. I assume CTs on the utility feeder would regulate this sell rate. Is there an inverter that will do this? I have not found the proper search terms to give me usable answers. I’ve been reading manuals from many different manufacturers but manuals seem to have become very vague as of late. Thanks in advance.
