A 240 V coil, block relay works for this. Connect the coil wires to the
output L1 and L2 of the generator. Run the AC input between the common
and the N/C terminal. When the generator starts, the relay opens and the
power is off.

I have a 40A rated contactor in place but it failed after 18 months.
The generator is not close to the inverters , so I ran a grid reference
circuit to the inverter location and installed the contactor there.
