The new -LV units have been coming that way for some reason. It takes specific firmware updates to resolve. We've had to deal with Solark Tech Support during this process multiple times now. There is no ultimate downside to the darker screen but it is strange that it is even happening.

Faulty display?

Hi All,

Does anyone know what it means when a Sol-Ark display goes into dark mode? Instead of the normal white background and coloring, the background goes to black, and the arrows are purple. I've talked to tech support, and all they would tell me is that it is "not good". We reset the dongle and updated firmware, and it went away, and I assumed that things were fine. But overnight, the dark mode came back. This has happened each night since the inverter was first turned on on Tuesday this week. Tech support wants me to reset it again, but I can only assume that the dark mode will come back. The customer was there for the installation over the past few days, but is not going to be there for a little while to tell me if the dark mode comes back. There is no indication on the monitoring site that this is happening, and the inverter otherwise seems to be working completely normally. But since tech support is not being particularly forthcoming with what this indicates, I thought I would see if anyone here has seen this in the past.

Also, this is a system upgrade, and we are leaving the 1 year old lead acid batteries in place. The old setup had the battery negative from the battery box connected to ground in the main service panel. Does anyone know whether leaving it like this will cause any issues?

Thanks!
-Dave
