We don't really need to map {. ...} to anything.  We could try to map it to 
"nfx", but that really doesn't make sense now (if you wanted THAT, (nfx . item) 
is way clearer).

So I propose stating that "The mapping of a curly-infix list beginning with the 
symbol "." is unspecified."  Then we're off the hook.
