After seeing this thread and taking a few minutes to play around, here is a hint to the answer why you can drop text on some apps, *not* how to do it, maybe someone else has time to try it:

Applications that you can drop text onto are in the 'Services' Menu (as seth pointed out)

some NSServices Stuff needs to go in the programs info.plist

doing a Show Package Contents on TextWrangler, Etc will show some Text examples of what it will accept to put it on the menu (i think the program has to be run) and stuff to send to the program, but i don't have the extra time to play with it

here's an example for 'Grab' on apple site:

http://developer.apple.com/documentation/Carbon/Conceptual/ appservices/concepts/chapter_2_section_5.html

here's how to handle them:

http://developer.apple.com/documentation/Carbon/Conceptual/ appservices/tasks/chapter_3_section_2.html#//apple_ref/doc/uid/ TP30000993-CH206-CJBGBHBJ

and you get a bunch of info just typing 'services menu' in the apple developer search, the time for me to figure if it's even possible with RealBasic is not available, but i sure would love the ability too!

if else has the brain processors working....
