Apologies to all who answered for not sustaining the thread more diligently, I was out of keyboard reach for a few days. Jeb: thank you for your detailed and informative reply. I think I will indeeed get my hands on one and try it out. The fact that the writing recognition seems built-in to respond to any text input is very reassuring*. I'll give it a try then, and post results of interest when I have them.
