Finding Ejectable Volumes

Hi All, I'm looking for a way to determine if a volume is ejectable.  
A bonus would be more info like CD, DVD, HD, thumb drive, firewire,  
usb, etc. Has anyone stumbled across a solution? I'm using Mac 2005 r2.
