Just to be fair to Charles, he does refer to it in a different
section about window attributes although he does not supply the
specific code but a more generalized one for the close attribute and
leaves the rest as an exercise.
It, therefore has the correct code as well.

Charles' declares are pretty comprehensive on this matter but, as far
as I can tell, does not discuss handling the widget itself. The
Carbon Declare Library does have the code to enable or disable the
button in OSX.
