I'm trying to move a folder to the trash on Windows and running into a major problem.

When I check to see if there is already a folder or file by that name in the Recycling bin with the code

if SpecialFolder.Trash.Child(fName).Exists

I get a nilobjectexception.

Is this expected behavior in Windows? Could it be because I'm doing this in VirtualPC? I'm running Windows 2000.

This is with an application built in RB 2006R3 Pro.

According the the Language Reference, this should work (points to "\user\Desktop\Recycle Bin\". The only reason I can think of that it doesn't is if you have renamed the "Recycle Bin" or if there is an encoding issue with your user name (there have been reports of problems with user names with special characters such as "André").
