Thanks to all who responded. Norm Palardy came up with the winning
solution (for me at least). AppleSript and ShellScript are way too
slow for my purposes. I was also looking for a way that could easily
be combined with my existing code.
This List is a great source of knowledge and a wonderful group that
is willing to contribute to help others. Thanks to all on the list
for the help you have provided to me since I've joined.
