I think it's an excellent suggestion. Something that Adobe/MM uses well. See

I doubt this will ever be implemented, but it remains a good idea, one that
those of you writing products that may benefit from user involvement and
community commitment could use profitably.
[as aside, notice the "tree" of the URL in the sample. the"
/product/version/ " to get you to your version specific info, sample, etc]
