I've just migrated an app to RB200x and accordingly been discussing
the new language options with the client, that Dynamic Constants
allow a single build to choose language at application startup, based
on your system settings.
The app makes use of constants throughout for all controls, menus and
tooltips.
To-date, we've been doing specific language builds, providing an
executable per-language.
The following is what they would like to do - I don't think Dynamic
Constants will achieve this nor is there any other easy mechanism in
RB to achieve it, but I would LOVE to be proven wrong!
"My preference for the localisation would be to have all the multiple
languages to be included with the system build, with the user having
the choice of which language to select at installation.
However if possible we would like the option to select which
languages the user can see, as not all distributors will have every
language i.e. Some may only take English so they will only see this
as the language option even though all of the languages are included.
This would mean that we only have one system build , and perhaps have
a Distributor preferences file which would define the languages
available.
