I certainly would like to see bug-free releases! At least, I would
like to see stuff that worked in the previous version not break in
the next version. Reworking things that REAL breaks is not productive
work. I had avoided listbox to database bindings that were broken
long ago, then I used them after they were fixed. They broke again in
2006 and rather than waiting months for them to be fixed, I had to
dedicate many hours to reprogram them. Frankly, I now avoid these
bindings like the plague as I never know when they will again break.
The problem is, what will change next? I used to look forward to new
releases of RB; now I shudder and cringe when I compile under new
releases.
Adding new features shouldn't break all the old stuff.
As for new stuff, I'd like to see:
1. A better editfield with tabs, spacing and RTF support on all
platforms.
2. A much more useful spreadsheet-like listbox as part of RB.
3. That great plugin idea for IDE that has been talked about here.
