There seems to be a lot of buzz around about this ability to build Librairies from RB.

Can somebody explain, or point for a Newbie, what this leads to?

Libraries would, hopefully, lead to one of several capabilities depending on what REAL implements

1) libraries or dll's that could be loaded and used by other programs, possibly something like Photoshop

2) libraries that would enable REAL basic developers to ship their code in a compiled form instead of encrypted source code

IF REAL implements (1) then I'd hope and expect we could get (2) to work by writing plugins for REALbasic in REALbasic Most plugins are written in C/C++ becuase those tools/languages have a way to access capabilities not presently possible in RB which is why a plugin is used.

I would add:

3) plug-ins for our own applications to provide additional functionality if the plug-in was present (ie. support for specific hardware).
