It's not so much a matter of not being able to do it, as it is thinking outside the box. You'll have to save state (in the app), launch another process (preferably one whose exe or script is located further up the directory tree closer to the root, have it rename the folder, then pass control back to your app (in the newly renamed folder). That should work; the trick would be getting your app to realize it's been restarted from this 'other' process and to thus restore state (with the exception of the flag that tells you to relaunch the helper app!)

Yes, that is why you're getting the 104.

No, I don't believe that you can rename (move) the parent of a running app since the app would lose all path info for its associated elements.
