If someone want to contradict me, I would be glad to hear (because there's no way I've gotten this to work in RB):

- Make a Quartz Composer slideshow that allows you to bind external events to some of its nodes
- Use RB to connect to those nodes.

E.g. pass a folder of images to a Quartz Composer presentation, allowing the RB app to define the duration each of the images and a core image transition (Cube, Ken Burns, Water Drop, …) to the next image. Or even just a way of using the core image transitions rendering a slideshow in realtime (currently, you could probably use QuickTime Effects and first render a movie before displaying it, but realtime image manipulation using the available core image stuff in Carbon?)

Can this be done at all using Carbon? I don't think so.

That's not my understanding - my understanding is that when Cocoa finally gets supported it will allow RB apps on OSX to be built using the Cocoa framework. Ie it wont just be the RB IDE that uses Cocoa. It will be the
target too.

If this is true, moving RB to Cocoa (RB itself, not its framework, it
would be interesting to have access to Cocoa classes from RB
(cross-platform?), but this is not what people here have in mind) may
be unnecessary loss of time and resources.
