The folloning code (#1 and #2) produce a file with incerted colors; code #2
chage the colors of the image on screen too.

Nota: do not ask why I wanted to get an 8 bits only picture, I do not recall
that (sorry).
When I comment the lines, I get the image I wanted.
Important: this is the resized image from a larger one (who can be very large).
The image I used for today’s testings is a 400 x 600, 72 dpi, RGB (but black
and white [not gresyscale]) image.
Usually, I shrink screenshots and scans image files (png or jpg).
What it hurts is that I was still using a version from last year (2005-08-30)
because of this (and that after many backups, I do not found where I could have
saved the RB 5.5.5 version [*]).
It is an intellectual question (I just want to know why), but I feel it
important to know.
In the mean time, I have commented the lines and can now use a more recent |
powerfull version (but larger disk / ram ? foot print, see [**]).

[*] I have always get two versions of the same code (RB 5.5.5 and RB 2005,
2006) 'till I've made the 'one step too far backup' that make me loose the
trace of the RB 5.5.5 version.
This is the first application that I started on Windows (07-2004) and that I
use on a daily basis (most of the time on the PowerBook, but sometimes on
Windows). I use it to download files from the internet as well as typing text,
resize images, sort data, and so on. It’s a Raw application (not so many
security / undo and so on), but like Rock and Roll: I like it!.

a. 2005-08-30 [Probably created with REALbasic 5.5.5]: 2 907 014 Bytes
b. 2007-01-11 2007r1 [with some more features]: 6 842 886 Bytes
Warning: I have added some features between the two builds; but this is more
thant two times the 2005-08-30 size!
ALSO: some features add huge library size in a stand alone (but we have to make
tests to know which libraries).
