I actually used the SoundOutputstream plugin C++ code some years back and
enhanced/adapted it for my own needs at the time, so I can confirm ( as can
Mars of course )  that SOS does indeed use PortAudio.  PS - Many thanks

It was basically a wrapper for portaudio. Portaudio has improved since then
of course.

Im sorry to hear MBS has issues with portaudio. Hopefully they will be
sorted out soon, I was planning to use it later this year.
